What if we told you the Brooklyn Superhero Supply Co. — a shop that stocks all the wares a modern superhero would need, from capes to jugs of invisibility power — was actually a front. Yes, you heard it right. Behind the incredibly cheeky writing and ingeniously industrial package design lies something far bigger than the store itself — the 826 program, a series of non-profit after-school creative writing centers for students, ages 6–18, organized by Dave Eggers. The “storefront” concept extends across a few genres, each with its own concisely-executed tounge-in-cheek brand.

posh promo… For this mailer for Neiman Marcus’ Seasonal Private Offer we took inspiration from the haute couture fall fashion trends. We designed this promo using large iconic photographs of the trends textures. The luxurious details bring a richness and warmth to this piece and elevate the aesthetic value of the offers.

celebrating 40 years… We were honored when asked to design an invitation package for the 40th birthday of a close friend and client of ours. When we were starting to talk about the project with her, she sent over a few pictures of the place setting being put together by the talented event planner, Tom Addis (image after the jump). This is what spurred our creative thinking and the direction for this save the date.
