here’s to the understated! We just got our stationery system in hot off the kluge, and wow! We are beyond excited about how everything turned out. We have the studio name along with our personal contact information pressed into the front of the card with a super deep blind emboss. This is paired with our address simply printed in a cool grey on the back with a little place for a “note”…people always write on your business card anyway so we gave them a place to do it this time. On the press check, we kept hitting the sheet harder and harder until we started to break on through and then dialed it back juuuuust a hair. That way you get as much credit for the emboss as possible. The way that the business cards play with the light is fascinating.
sharpen your pencils… We try hard to continue educating ourselves daily but remember the days in school when you could do ANYTHING? Honestly, at the studio we are lucky and feel extremely fortunate to have trusting clients that allow and want us operate in an experimental, learning zone as professionals. We love to try new things and one of our favorite sayings from a vendor is “I’ve never done that before…let me get back to you“. Looking at student work is a little like that moment. Incredibly fun and inspiring to visualize without boundaries, budgets and just think via pure design love.

all that glitters is gold… We just finished the website for E. Allison Jewelry. Her pieces have a restrained simplicity – while staying incredibly human and warm. She uses 14-k gold, semi-precious stones and vintage milagros (delicate metal prayer charms found in New Mexico) to complete these unique pieces. They are designed to be worn layered and casually.
fashion. you love it. …and so do we. We are so pleased to announce the completion and launch of the Fashionistas blog. We had a great time working on this project and love the buzz surrounding this organization. Loads of online activity, stellar events and even more excitement! Put this blog on your daily checkins…tons of great content and inspiration.

we are super excited… to announce an event that we are doing via style/SWOON at the downtown Neiman Marcus store called SUBLIME SHELTER & SPLENDOR. We’ve worked with NM Corporate PR for many years designing invitations to events such as this so it’s very cool to design one for ourselves. The event surrounds a small “home” (think NYC apartment) on the fourth floor in the home and entertaining gallery styled by Sam. It will be a three day installation that kicks off Thursday evening, April 8th, with a cocktail reception from 6-8 p.m. All are invited!! Please join us for cocktails, bites and beats ala Tim is the DJ (aka Tim Flannery) and tons of great style.
See below for more details on the invitation. (Very glam!)
Milton Glaser draws and discusses the act of drawing in this short film by C.Coy. (side note: who else but Mr. Glaser draws in a french cuff? Classy, people. Very classy.)
it is full of hidden treasure… (even to us!) We began work on the stadium project before there was even a stake in the ground and have been proud to be a part of it every step of the way. Over the past five years we have poured over renderings, toured the ins and outs of the development and construction and joyously took part in the grand opening this September. BUT one huge component of the stadium that was a surprise even to us (you think you know someone!) was the world class Art Collection of Cowboys Stadium brilliantly guided by Gene Jones. We were thrilled to put together a 60 page brochure commemorating the collection and then last Monday evening we attended an event honoring the art, artists and art advisory board (we created a fab invite for the event). It’s truly an amazing collection of art and artists. Visit the Cowboys Stadium Art site here, google the artists, you will be amazed.
See below for a peek at the brochure and invite. Enjoy!
we are loving fluorescents lately… this invite was to launch the new exclusive of Tom’s Shoes “tiny toms” for Neiman Marcus in Beverly Hills. Fluorescent pink on chip board.
